Man eats 5.2 pounds of cheese curds in six minutes en route to victory at the Wisconsin State Fair
WEST ALLIS, Wis. — Cheese curds are a staple food in Wisconsin. But for competitive eaters like Darron Breeden, it’s an opportunity to win a professional eating contest.
Breeden, from Virginia, upset the No 1 ranked Joey Chestnut at the Wisconsin State Fair’s Cheese Curd Eating Championship on Saturday, setting a new world record by eating 5.2 pounds of cheese curds in six minutes.

“Nothing motivates me more than a loss,” Chestnut tweeted after the competition. “It was a disappointing performance today… I’ll regroup and focus on next weekend.”
Chestnut will be competing in a gyoza-eating contest next weekend.
