Man dodges charges in stew theft
A New Mexico man who was arrested in 2015 for breaking into his mother’s home and taking her posole stew has had his charges dropped, The Associated Press reports.
Jonathan Carlos Ray ran off with the stew after his mother explicitly told him he couldn’t have any. Ray’s mother later came home to find her gate and garage broken and the stew missing.
The judge in the case dismissed the charges because the only witnesses to the alleged crime were Ray and his mother.
