Man dies in Merrimac car fire after getting stuck in snow
VILLAGE OF MERRIMAC, Wis. — A 50-year-old man died in a car fire in the Villiage of Merrimac early Friday evening, officials said.
According to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, Ricky J. Guillen of Prairie Du Sac was pronounced dead at the scene when authorities arrived on the 500 block of Cemetery Street at around 5:50 p.m.
Officials said that Guillen drove his 1994 Buick Park Avenue into a front yard. While attempting to back out of the lawn, the vehicle caught fire. Witnesses tried to help Guillen get out of the car, but were unsuccessful. When authorities arrived, the car was engulfed in fire.
The Merrimac Fire Department, Sauk Prairie Emergency Medical Services and the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the fire.
