Man dies in garage fire in town of Oakdale

OAKDALE, Wis. — A 49-year-old man died in a garage fire on Monday in the Town of Oakdale, according to a release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the release, Monroe County Dispatch was contacted at 11:41 a.m. about a fire on Honeysuckle Avenue. The caller told dispatch that her husband might have been in the shed when the fire broke out.

Emergency services found the shed full engulfed with heavy smoke upon arrival. The man, Richard Siess, was found dead inside after the fire was extinguished. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but there is no information available that this incident involved foul play.
