Man dead at scene of head-on crash with semi
Honda crossed center line before collision
TROY, Wis. — A Whitewater man was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in the town of Troy, officials said.
The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a report of a head-on crash at about 5:51 a.m. on Highway 20 west of Town Line Road.
Police said first responders found 36-year-old Titus J. Greenwood dead behind the wheel of his 2011 Honda Insight. He was wearing a seat belt.
According to the report, the Honda was headed east on Highway 20 when it crossed the centerline and entered the westbound lane, colliding with a semi-trailer driven by 38-year-old Paul J. Rasmusson, of Racine.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the crash.
The road was closed to traffic for about five hours as a team investigated, according to the report.
Rasmusson was taken to the local hospital but was not admitted, the sheriff’s office said.
An autopsy will be done this week to determine the cause of Greenwood’s death.
