A 48-year-old was convicted Tuesday of robbing a Beloit gas station at gunpoint in July, according to a release.

Anthony Hill was convicted in a two-day trial for armed robbery with use of force as a repeat offender, according to the release.

Hill was convicted of robbing the Pro Fuel Gas Station at 1888 Shopiere Rd. in Beloit just after 11 p.m. on July 29, according to the release. The store clerk said Hill came behind the counter area, threw her up against a wall and demanded money.

The clerk told police Hill was pointing something underneath his shirt, which she believed to be a gun, according to the release. As Hill left the store with the money, the clerk saw that Hill did have a gun.

Police obtained a still picture of Hill during the robbery from the store’s surveillance. The picture was distributed and a Beloit parole officer was able to identify the robber as his client, Hill.

Hill is scheduled to be sentenced April 2.

At the time of the robbery, Hill was on extended supervision for a previous armed robbery he committed in 2000, according to the release.
