The Madison Police Department said one person was transported to the hospital Sunday night after a crash that involved three vehicles and closed part of U.S. Highway 12 for more than four hours.

Police said Milton Javier Hernandez Salguero, 33, was driving southbound on County Highway AB when he drove through the intersection of Hwy 12. He allegedly hit a semi shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday.

After the initial crash, police say another vehicle hit Hernandez Salguero’s car.

Hernandez Salguero was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police cited him on suspicion of his second-offense OWI and failure to yield.

The eastbound lanes of Hwy. 12 were closed while officers cleared the scene.
