Man brings two BB guns on bus, tentatively charged with disorderly conduct
MADISON, Wis. — A woman alerted a bus driver about a potentially dangerous man after she saw a man with two BB guns that looked like real handguns get on a separate city bus Tuesday morning.
According to an incident report, the woman was waiting at a bus stop on Pflaum Road on Tuesday morning when she saw 19-year-old Dapri A. V. Hallom open his backpack and tuck a gun into his pants. As he did, a second handgun fell from his backpack. Hallom then got on one of the city buses as the woman ran to alert the driver of a different bus.
Thanks to coordination between Madison police and the driver of the bus Hallom was riding on, law enforcement officials were able to apprehend Hallom and take him to the Dane County Jail after the bus pulled over at Turner Avenue and Buckeye Road.
A subsequent investigation of the handguns Hallom had in his possession revealed that both weapons were BB guns. One of the weapons was designed to look like it was loaded with real bullets.
Hallom faces a tentative charge of disorderly conduct.
