MADISON, Wis. — A would-be robber threatened a store clerk saying “there’s bombs everywhere and if you don’t give me all the money, everyone is going to die,” at a Citgo on Milwaukee Street Monday at 8:30 p.m., police said.

According to an incident report, the employee wasn’t buying it and refused to turn over any cash. The man was frustrated and knocked a lottery display off a counter before running away. The man’s face was tightly bound in the hood of a sweatshirt.

He was described as white, 5 feet 9 inches with a slender build. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and sweatpants and dark sneakers. A similarly described and attired man created a disturbance inside a Woodman’s on Milwaukee Street earlier Monday night while trying to steal alcohol, the report said.
