Man arrested twice during sheriff’s special traffic operation
MADISON, Wis. — A Madison man was arrested twice by sheriff’s deputies after he ran from police on Madison’s east side Friday night, officials said.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office said 24-year-old Larry D. Grant was arrested after he fled on foot from a traffic stop at Hoard Street and Oak Street in the city of Madison.
The same deputy that conducted the traffic stop later saw Grant get into a different vehicle. The deputy initiated another traffic stop and arrested Grant on suspicion of obstructing.
Grant was booked into the Dane County Jail on a probation violation, the report said.
The sheriff’s operation Friday night was part of a special deployment funded by a grant. Five other people were arrested between 6 p.m. and 3 a.m. Saturday. Another operation to crack down on impaired driving, funded by the state Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Safety, is scheduled Feb. 10.
