MADISON, Wis. — Madison Police arrested a man Thursday, after finding a gun, ammo, and balaclava in a car he was riding in.

Officers pulled over a car in the 2400 block of Rimrock Road just after 2 p.m.

Police say that the passenger of the vehicle was wearing a black balaclava.

The driver and passenger were asked to step out of the vehicle as a search was conducted.

Police found a loaded gun, ammo, and the balaclava in the car. Police also found an ID card belonging to the passenger that listed a different name than what was originally given.

The passenger, identified as Travon Kelly, 23, was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon as well as obstructing and resisting arrest.

Kelly also had two warrants for burglary and theft out of Monona.

During the traffic stop, police say Kelly’s mother, Keshaunta Kelly, 39, arrived on the scene and gave police another fake name for her son.

She was ticketed for obstructing an arrest and was released from the scene.

The driver of the car was given a warning and released.
