Man arrested after allegedly pointing gun at girlfriend’s head, Madison police say


MADISON, Wis. – Madison police arrested a man Saturday afternoon after they responded to a weapons offense.

According to an incident report, a caller told dispatch around 1:10 p.m. that a woman approached him saying that her boyfriend pointed a gun at her head.

Officials arrived in the area in the 2800 block of Dryden Drive and took the boyfriend, Derrick A. Rush, of Chicago, into custody without incident.

Police said a loaded handgun connected to the incident was found in a nearby yard.

Rush was taken to Dane County Jail on charges of second-degree reckless endangering safety, felon in possession of a firearm, intimidation of a victim, battery and felony bail jumping.
