Man arguing with woman points gun at witness in parking ramp, police say
MADISON, Wis. — A Madison man was arrested early Sunday morning after pointing a gun at a man trying to return a woman’s purse, officials said.
Davonte D. Howard, 22, pointed a handgun at a 23-year-old Juneau man after the man tried to make sure a woman who was with Howard was OK, police said.
The woman and Howard had been fighting just before 2 a.m. in the State Street Capitol parking ramp at 214 N. Carroll St. when Howard attempted to drive out of the ramp without her, according to a release.
The woman jumped on the hood of the car to try and stop Howard from leaving, but she dropped her purse, officials said. The Juneau man picked up the woman’s purse and was trying to return it when Howard pulled out a gun and pointed it at the man.
The victim returned the purse and slowly backed up, according to the release.
Police arrested Howard in the parking ramp on tentative charges of carrying a concealed weapon, recklessly endangering safety and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.
