Man accused of sexually assaulting a horse has history of mistreatment of animals, report says
GREEN BAY, Wis. — A man who’s been previously convicted of sexually abusing animals was in court this week accused of similar acts.
Sterling Rachwal, 53, was convicted in 1993 mistreatment of animals causing death, intentional mistreatment of animals, and sexual gratification with an animal in Monroe County, according to a report from WFRV-TV. In 1996, he was found not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.
Rachwal was in Brown County court in Green Bay Wednesday afternoon. Prosecutors accused him of sexually assaulting a horse in Eaton in February and another in Manitowoc County in April.
WFRV reported that charges weren’t yet filed, but the judge ordered Rachwal be held on a $5,000 cash bond.
