Man accused of OWI, attempting to steal boat, sheriff says

RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. — A 32-year-old man is facing charges including drunken driving and attempting to steal a water craft Monday, officials say.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded to a report at 9:14 p.m. of suspicious activity near Vetesnik Power Sports in Richland Center.
Deputies found a boat and trailer blocking the road on Sawmill Road off Highway 14. They also found a vehicle parked nearby that’s registered to Michael W. Westphal, of Blue River.
Officials said a K-9 searched the area and Westphal was found at a nearby business and arrested on suspicion of felony theft, obstructing and second-offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
