Man accused of felony 5th OWI, sheriff’s office says
MADISON, Wis. — A driver is accused of his fifth drunken-driving offense after a traffic stop on Madison’s east side, officials said.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy stopped 57-year-old Daniel W. Geiger on Commercial Avenue and North Fair Oaks Friday night.
According to the report, Geiger was arrested on suspicion of felony operating while intoxicated and possession of cocaine.
Geiger’s was arrested during a sheriff’s operation Friday night as part of a special deployment funded by a grant. Five other people were arrested between 6 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday. Another operation to crack down on impaired driving, funded by the state Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Safety, is scheduled Feb. 10.
