Man accused of causing deadly Middleton crash booked into Dane County Jail

MADISON, Wis. — The man accused of causing a deadly Middleton crash that killed three high school students in early October has been booked into the Dane County Jail.

Eric Mehring, 30, was booked on Tuesday, which is the day his mugshot was released on the jail’s online inmate list.

Earlier this week, Mehring was formally charged in three teens’ deaths.

According to online court records, Mehring was charged Monday with three counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, three counts of second-degree reckless homicide and two counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety.
