Mallards unveil new logo ahead of season start
MADISON, Wis. — In anticipation of it’s return to baseball the Mallards unveil new logo Saturday night.
The new logo, is meant to signify the team’s connection with Madison. It features mascot, Maynard G. Mallard standing over a home plate made of cheese with a foot in each lake.
Mallards President Vern Stenman said, “We’ve always wanted the Mallards to be reflective of the community we call home. Our new branding drives that connection home.”
The team also plans to commission artists from Dane County to make mugs and other team gear to sell in their ballpark this season.
On Friday the Mallards announced that it will work with Summit Credit Union to give 5,900 young local baseball and softball players hats for their games.
A vintage 70’s VW bus had become a promotional vehicle for the mallards. It will be making stops around Madison this summer.
The baseball team has not played a game in 20-months and is scheduled to start again on May 31.
Tickets to attend a socially distanced game go on sale May 15th.
