Madison’s garbage pickup resumes Monday
Crews to put in extra hours to catch up from snowstorm
MADISON, Wis. — A Streets Division official said the city will resume trash and recycling collection on Monday. Crews will be working in the Monday collection districts as well as picking up material that was not collected in the Thursday and Friday’s districts due to the snowstorm.
Recycling coordinator George Dreckmann said Christmas Eve is normally a half day for collection crews, but workers will stay on to complete collection in the Thursday and Friday areas.
Residents in the Thursday and Friday areas are asked to dig their carts out if they are buried in snow. Residents are also reminded that bins need to be out by 7 a.m. to ensure collection.
Large item collection remains suspended until further notice, Dreckmann said. Residents are asked to hold large items until collection resumes or bring them to the drop off sites at 1501 W. Badger Rd or 4602 Sycamore Av. The sites are open Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
Holiday collection information:
No trash or recycling collection on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.
If your material is normally collected on Tuesdays, it will be collected on Wednesday this week and Jan. 2 next week. The delay should not affect residents whose material is not normally collected on Tuesdays. The Streets Division reminds residents that they should have garbage bins at the curb by 7 a.m.
