Madison Symphony Orchestra cancels concerts, performances through May
MADISON, Wis. — The Madison Symphony Orchestra announced it has canceled all previously scheduled concerts, programs and performances through May 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Executive Director Richard Mackie made the announcement in a statement Monday. Though events for the remainder of the season have been canceled, Concert on the Green is still scheduled for June 2021.
“In the meantime, should there be a breakthrough opportunity to restore any of the canceled orchestra or organ concerts, or educational and community services to the schedule, we will be prepared to do so,” Mackie said.
Refunds will be issued to subscribers, and ticketholders will have the option to donate the value of their tickets. The orchestra is also accepting donations for the Musicians’ Relief Fund.
“We are committed to helping our orchestra and keeping great music alive in Madison,” Mackie said.
