Madison shooting victim dies, homicide investigation underway
MADISON, Wis. — The victim of a shooting Monday evening in Madison has died.
According to the Madison Police Department, the victim died after being hit by gunfire multiple times during an incident Monday evening on the 2100 block of Harley Drive.
Tyler Farrell, who lives next door to where the shooting allegedly took place, shared his thoughts on what was a surreal evening for the neighborhood.
“I was nervous! I wasn’t sure I mean, this is a quite neighborhood,” said Farrell. “I have lived here for 16 years and nothing like this has ever happened. The fact that is right next door it makes me concerned.”
Police said a suspect was detained at the scene and the shooting was targeted.
The homicide is the city’s ninth homicide of 2021.
