Madison selected as best place to retire by Money.com

MADISON, Wis. — Money.com announced its 10 best places to retire and selected Madison as No. 1.
Money looked at 47,500 data points to determine the list. They also looked at housing, climate, diversity and safety.
According to Money, Madison was selected as No. 1 because of its recreational activities and natural beauty. The city’s median home price is $292,200, which was one of the lowest for all of the winners.
Money also cited free events, restaurants and the Dane County Farmers’ Market as perks of living in the area. It also has 38 retirement communities, which was the most of all the winners.
Those 60 years old and older can also audit courses at the University of Wisconsin–Madison for free.
