Madison police renew calls for help in identifying April sexual assault suspect
MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are renewing calls for help with identifying a man suspected in a random sexual assault that happened on the city’s east side earlier this year.
Authorities released a sketch of the suspect back in April but they have not yet identified him.
The assault happened around 12:30 a.m. on April 12 on Brandie Road; officials said the man was seen walking in the direction of N. Thompson Dr. after the assault.
Police said the victim reported being attacked by a stranger while she was walking into her apartment building. The man reportedly slammed her to the ground in the building’s foyer before assaulting her.
Law enforcement officials have described the suspect as a 5-foot, 11-inch or 6-foot Black man with a medium to dark skin complexion and weighing between 190 and 200 pounds. He was also described as having stubble on his face and rough-textured skin.
Anyone with information about the man is asked to call the Madison Area Crime Stoppers tipline at 608-266-6014.
