Madison police issue more citations for property damage complaints during Mifflin Street Block Party

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police have issued more than a dozen new citations in connection with property damage complaints during the Mifflin Street Block Party last weekend.

The block party took place Saturday on West Mifflin Street. An update from Friday said two people were cited for property damage that was done to a white 2012 Toyota Camry parked behind an address on the 100 block of North Bassett Street.

Officials said a 20-year-old student from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire received a misdemeanor citation for damage to property. A 21-year-old UW-Madison student also received a misdemeanor citation for party to a crime – damage to property. An investigation on the case is ongoing.

Police are also looking into property damage that was done to a white 2018 Toyota Highlander parked behind an address on the 500 block of West Mifflin Street.

Officials said two men, a 19-year-old UW-Madison student and a 20-year-old UW-Stout student, received misdemeanor citations for damage to property. An additional 10 men and women ages 18 to 20 received municipal citations for damage to property. The group consisted of nine UW-Madison students and one UW-Platteville student. Police are continuing to investigate.
