Madison police investigate robberies at 2 adult stores

Police believe it was the same robber

Madison police are investigating two robberies on the city’s east side from Sunday night.

Police responded to an armed robbery call at Selective Video on Commercial Avenue around 11 p.m. According to police, the robber came into the store and put a handgun to the clerk’s back. The robber ordered the clerk to open the cash register and took money.

The suspect ran away with an undetermined amount of money. No one was hurt during the robbery.

While police were investigating the Selective Video robbery, a second robbery call came in from the Red Letter News on East Washington Avenue. The robber had a handgun and took money from the register before running away from the area.

Police believe the robberies were committed by the same person. Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call the Madison Police Department or Madison Area Crime Stoppers.
