Madison police arrest alleged drug dealer on south side
Man tackled by police after foot chase
An investigation into drug sales on Madison’s south side has led Madison police to arrest a 40-year-old man on numerous charges.
Police arrested Anthony Harper around 3:30 p.m. last Friday after they executed a search warrant on Adeline Circle.
While being handcuffed, Harper took off and ran away from officers until one of them tackled him in the parking lot of the PDQ in the 2600 block of Fish Hatchery Road. Harper fought back, causing minor injuries to three officers.
When police executed the search warrant, they found over 8 pounds of marijuana, with a street value approx $12,000. Police also found more than $6,000 in cash, a loaded .380 semi-automatic handgun, other ammunition and various other drugs and drug paraphernalia.
