Madison Mayor To Undergo Surgery

Madison Mayor Paul Soglin is scheduled for hip replacement surgery.

The surgery on one hip is scheduled for later this month, according to spokeswoman Katie Crawley.

Crawley said the surgery is needed for basic wear and tear.

Soglin will be out of work for a couple of days, but he plans to get back to work as soon as possible, Crawley said.

While he is gone, Lauren Cnare, president of the Madison Common Council, will fill in for the mayor.
