Madison mayor presents budget cuts to council
Soglin says projected deficit is $10 million
MADISON, Wis. — Madison Mayor Paul Soglin on Tuesday presented the Madison Common Council with budget cuts for next year.
Soglin said the projected deficit is $10 million, and he has asked city agencies to cut 5 percent from their budgets.
The mayor’s spokeswoman said the city’s Engineering Department will be among the agencies with the biggest cuts.
The budget will now go through the committee process before a final Common Council vote.
