Madison man suspected in pizza place robbery
Witnesses: Man's face was painted black
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — A Madison man was arrested early Friday on suspicion of robbing the Platteville Domino’s Pizza at knife point.
Police were called to Domino’s Pizza on Business Highway 151 at 2:15 a.m. when employees reported that a man with his face painted black and armed with a knife had robbed the store of cash and fled in a dark-colored vehicle east Highway 151.
A short time later a clerk at a business in Mineral Point reported to a Mineral Point police officer that a man had been in the business washing his face. The Mineral Point officer alerted Iowa County sheriff’s deputies, who stopped a suspect vehicle.
Ryan J. Barthel, 39, of Madison, was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery. Police said they found a knife, black boot polish and cash in his vehicle.
