Madison man shows up for date only to be beaten and have belongings stolen

One Madison man was looking for love in all the wrong places Friday.

The 37-year-old showed up for a “date” at the Motel 6 on East Towne Boulevard, only to be beaten by four assailants and have both his money and phone stolen, according to a release.

Jonecia Napper, Johnnie Napper and Chaka Fisher, all from St. Louis, were arrested later in connection to the incident, officials said. The fourth attacker is still at large.

Police say the incident was not random and there is no danger to the public.
