Madison man punched in road rage incident over parenting
Edgerton man told police he "lost it"
MADISON, Wis. — An Edgerton man was arrested on suspicion of battery after what police are describing as a road rage incident.
Jason P. Gohlke, 29, told police he “lost it” when another motorist began shaking his head at him as he tried to quiet his toddler son. Both cars were stopped for a traffic light on S. Gammon Road near the Highway 12 around 3 p.m. Saturday. Gohlke was a passenger in his car.
Police said Gohlke walked to the victim’s car window and punched the 44-year-old Madison man in the head. Gohlke told police he interpreted the other man’s shaking of his head as judgment of his parenting.
An off-duty Middleton police official witnessed the incident.
