Madison man facing 5th OWI charge
Police make arrest after stopping vehicle without plate
TOWN OF BLOOMING GROVE, Wis. — A police stop involving a man driving without license plates has led to one man facing his fifth charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s office.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Opsal II, 42, Madison, at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday on Christianson Avenue in the Town of Blooming Grove.
According to the sheriff’s department, a deputy observed Opsal driving a car without a license plate and pulled him over.
Deputies said Opsal failed a field sobriety test after being pulled over and was charged with a felony OWI. Opsal is in the Dane County Jail, according to the sheriff’s department.
