Madison man dies in single-vehicle La Grange crash
Sheriff says medical event may have contributed to crash
LA GRANGE, Wis. — A Madison man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon, officials said.
The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a report of a one-car crash off Highway 12 in the town of La Grange at about 3 p.m.
The crash occurred several hundred yards off the road near W5905 on Highway 12, west of County Road H.
Rescue Squad members from the town of La Grange arrived on scene prior to the deputies and were attempting life-saving measures to the driver and sole occupant of the 2014 Nissan, according to the report. The driver, identified as 58-year-old Marc R. Semrow of was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The sheriff’s department said the Nissan was westbound on Highway 12 when it swerved, crossed the center line and entered the field on the south side of the road. The vehicle continued through the field until it struck a tree.
A medical event may have contributed to this crash, according to the report. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
