Madison Man Convicted Of Heroin Distribution Gets 14-Year Sentence

A Madison mad convicted of distributing heroin was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison on Friday.

Larry Buckley pleaded guilty to the charge on Sept. 28.

Between June and August of 2010, an individual cooperating with law enforcement bought heroin from Buckley at different locations in Dane County, according to authorities.

At the sentencing on Friday, the government argued that Buckley’s prior state convictions for felony battery, intimidation of a victim, escape, aggravated battery by use of a dangerous weapon and felon in possession of a firearm, called for a lengthy prison term.

The charges against Buckley were the result of an investigation conducted by the Dane County Narcotics and Gang Task Force, authorities said.
