Madison man charged with threatening federal probation officer

MADISON, Wis. — A Madison man was charged Wednesday with threatening to assault a federal law enforcement officer.

According to a news release from the Department of Justice, Amin Williams, 37, faces a maximum penalty of six years in federal prison if convicted.

Officials said Williams threatened a U.S. probation officer with the intent to retaliate against the officer last August.

The release said the officer was doing his official duties at the time.

The charge against Williams is the rest of an investigation by the U.S. Marshals Service.
