Madison man arrested on suspicion of attempted armed robbery
MADISON, Wis. — A Madison man was arrested for attempted armed robbery at a parking garage on the 200 block of Wisconsin Avenue on Wednesday after the victim reported the crime at a nearby hotel, according to an incident report.
According to the report, the victim, a 64-year-old man, reported that Tyrone W. Martin, 34, pointed a knife at him while ordering him to empty his pockets. The victim told Martin that his pockets were already empty, so Martin left the scene. The victim walked to a nearby hotel, where he reported the crime. A staff member then called police. The victim said he and Martin were acquaintances from the streets.
Police said they found Martin wandering the streets nearby. They arrested him on suspicion of attempted armed robbery, disorderly conduct while armed and bail jumping.
