Discover Wisconsin’s Best Supper Club
A local favorite and a modern supper club, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright protege James Dresser, The Del-Bar started out in 1943 as a small cabin restaurant with just six tables. As The Del-Bar enters its 80th year in business in 2023, the restaurant has become one of the most excellent examples of the state’s supper clubs.
While the interiors are stunning, the food is superb. All prime grade steaks, fresh seafood, and the highest quality ingredients make up the cuisine at Del-Bar. “We source from local farms as much as possible, especially in summertime,” says Amy Wimmer, current co-owner with her sister Anne. Del-Bar boasts a family atmosphere, with several employees working with the Wimmers for many years. “We take great pride in our employees, and many have worked for us for five, ten, twenty or more years,” says Wimmer.
The idea of the supper club was sitting a spell and enjoying some delicious homecooked meals and perhaps a classic Wisconsin Old Fashioned cocktail. Happy hour runs Sunday through Thursday in
the bar 4:30-6pm. “We strive for the top service experience for our customers,” says Wimmer. And this means guiding guests through all their options from the best Wisconsin cheeses and wines to prime aged steaks and standout desserts that make foodies want to come back for seconds.
In 2021, the outdoor patio was expanded, giving guests the chance to sit under a retractable awning to enjoy their meals outside as well.
