Three Madison restaurants nominated for USA Today's Best Cheese Curds competition

Vote for your favorite through June 3

USA Today named three Madison-based businesses as nominees for the 10Best Cheese Curds in Wisconsin contest.

The Old Fashioned, Curd Girl food truck and Tipsy Cow were selected as three of the 20 nominees that span the state. Along with the three Madison businesses, Craftsman Table & Tap in Middleton, Crawfish Junction in Johnson Creek, The Del-Bar in Wisconsin Dells, Grumpy Troll Brew Pub in Mount Horeb and Kristi's Restaurant in New Glarus were also nominated to be named the restaurant with the best cheese curds in Wisconsin.

Two experts helped select the initial nominees: Ron Faiola, a filmmaker with four Wisconsin-themed PBS documentaries who also has written two books about Wisconsin supper clubs, and Daniel Higgins, the Wisconsin USA Today food and drink reporter.

For a business to win, USA Today is asking readers to vote for their favorites. People can vote once per day until voting ends June 3. The 10 winning restaurants will be announced June 14.
