Madison restaurant closing on Capitol Square after 15 years in business

Brocach's last day is Sunday, April 7

After nearly 15 years on Capitol Square, Brocach Irish Pub & Whiskey Den is closing its doors in Madison.

In a Facebook post, the restaurant says its last day will be Sunday, April 7.

"We would like to thank the Madison community for your support and patronage over the years," the Facebook post says. "It has truly been a pleasure and we look forward to seeing what happens next at 7 and 9 West Main Street."

Brocach is one of the few spots in the Madison area serving Irish food. In addition to Irish specials like shepherd's pie, bangers and mash and corned beef and cabbage, Brocach specialized in New England and Wisconsin classics.

"We would also like to thank our incredibly talented and dedicated team. It has been an honor and a privilege to work alongside so many wonderful individuals throughout this journey," the post says. "Lifelong friendships were built, spouses met and we certainly had some great times along the way."

The Monroe Street location also closed in the past year after seven years on Monroe Street.
