Staff from Sustain Dane will be available to talk all things sustainability at Short Stack Eatery’s Brunch for Sustainability. For the past month, Short Stack Eatery donated 1 percent of sales to Sustain Dane, an organization that helps accelerate sustainable actions in Dane County. To celebrate, staff members will be at Short Stack Eatery to mingle with customers during breakfast. Enjoy a gluten-free pancake or a Best of Madison award-winning bloody mary. Come to the Refugee Brunch Series–Afghanistan at Joon, a newly opened Persian restaurant on Monroe Street. Afghan refugees are taking over the kitchen and creating delicious meals for a variety of diets including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. All proceeds benefit the chefs as well as Jewish Social Services of Madison, an organization that helps with refugee resettlement. Take-out is also available. Prices vary. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Click here for more info

Bierock, a craft beer bar and tavern on Madison's east side, will donate 10 percent of sales to the Dane County Humane Society during and after the Puppy Bowl Sunday Benefit. Starting at 2 p.m., Bierock will show Animal Planet's popular "Puppy Bowl," where adorable shelter dogs play football. Enjoy a pour of Kickback Kolsch, Chocolate Lab or Waffle Stout until the big screens switch to the Super Bowl around 5:30 p.m. The best part is that no mater if you're interested or not in the "Puppy Bowl" or the NFL finale, 10 percent of your purchase will help the local humane society until 10 p.m. that evening.
