Madison Golf Committee discussing course closures
MADISON, Wis. — Madison’s Golf Committee will be choosing between three options presented by the Park’s Division over closing parts or full golf courses in the area.
The committee will be deciding between closing the entire nine-hole Monona Golf Course, closing either 18 holes, or all 36 holes of Yahara Hills Golf Course.
This decision comes from an effort to reduce spending and lower recent losses on golf courses.
The Madison City Council will ultimately make the decision, but the Golf Committee will be making recommendations about which closure is best.
The Board of Parks commissioners will meet next Wednesday at Olbrich Botanical Gardens and talk about the report.
