Three people displaced following apartment fire on East Johnson Street
MADISON, Wis. — Three people have been displaced after an apartment fire in Madison Thursday afternoon.
According to the Madison Fire Department, the fire happened on the 800 block of East Johnson St. at around 3 p.m.
Officials said the three-story building contains Macha Tea and The Robin Room on the ground level, with four apartment units above the businesses.
Authorities said the fire was extinguished quickly and was contained to only one of the units, with the other three being unaffected.
Officials said The Robin Room sustained some water damage but will be open tomorrow.
The release said the residents who were displaced are staying with friends and family.
The cause of the fire and estimated damage costs are unknown at this time, but no injuries were reported.
