MADISON, Wis. — A Madison craft store will be closing its doors permanently within the next few months.

According to a post from the store’s Facebook page, the Madison Craft Market will be closing by the end of April. The store, which has been in business for 30 years, lost their lease due to the redevelopment of Westgate Mall on Madison’s west side.

The mall lost its last major retailer back in May.

Wisconsin Craft Market owner Paul Zarnikow said he plans to have a final sale at the end of March to sell what remains.

“We’re particularly lucky that Madison seems, more than other places, to be aware that shopping local is important and makes the effort to support these businesses who give back to the community. We’ve been proud to have helped countless local organizations over the years. Please continue to support your local businesses who do this exact same thing – we’re all in this together,” said Zarnikow.
