Madison Community Foundation, lakes are vital part of community

The Madison Community Foundation has been committed to promoting the health of Dane County’s lakes and watershed through community impact grant support for many years now, so its choice of the Clean Lakes Alliance for a 75th Anniversary Year of Giving Grant is a logical choice.

There’s also nice synergy with the first of a year’s worth of grants announced a month ago to underwrite a study of the proposed Nolen Waterfront Project that could dramatically improve public access to Lake Monona.

But what this second anniversary monthly grant announcement also demonstrates is the growing importance of the Community Foundation’s targeted community impact giving and the value of supporting the growth of that aspect of MCF’s work.

Our lakes are a vital part of who we are as a community, as the Madison Community Foundation has been for 75 years.
