Madison Comedy Week underway through Sunday

MADISON, Wis. — Madison Comedy Week is underway.

The event kicked off on August 7 and runs through August 14. During the eight-day event, more than 100 comedians will perform at 30 shows across ten venues, Jake Snell, the event’s director, said.

“There’s a lot of community interest, so it kind of puts a nice little spotlight on the Madison comedy scene, which is definitely one that stacks up to scenes in cities many times its size,” he said.

Madison Comedy Week also helps bring comedians together to network and develop, he added.

“It brings in a lot of people from all over the country who are doing the kind of things that people who do comedy here in Madison want to do, so it kind of connects everybody and allows that infrastructure to build away from just locally but also keeps a focus on the locals,” he said.
