Madison College, UW-Platteville sign transfer agreements for trio of programs
MADISON, Wis. — A trio of new agreements between Madison College and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville aim to make it easier for students to transfer credits.
The three transfer agreements involve programs in business management, construction management and criminal justice. Madison College students will be able to transfer their associate degree credits directly to UW-Platteville’s bachelor’s degree programs.
“We are responding to the workforce needs in the region,” interim UW-Platteville Chancellor Tammy Evetovich said, “so when you think of these three pathways — business, construction management, criminal justice — we’re working on those pathways that are going to fill workforce needs as well.”
Another important factor, she added, is the access and affordability the agreements create.
The agreements, which campus officials signed in a ceremony at Madison College on Thursday, are the latest between the college and UW schools.
In May, Madison College and UW-Madison signed a similar agreement for nursing students. In March, the schools announced a transfer agreement guaranteeing qualifying Madison College students admission to some online programs with the Wisconsin School of Business at UW-Madison.
