Madison College students prepare to transfer to four-year college through biotechnology internship
MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Madison announced Friday an internship program created for Madison College students that can help them transfer to a four-year college.
The biotechnology internship gives seven students laboratory experience they may not have had the opportunity to get before. Selected students work at the Wisconsin Crop Innovation Center’s Middleton research center, which was donated to UW-Madison in 2017 by Monsanto.
The students study and test gene editing technologies that could improve crops.
The internship runs throughout the summer and pays all its interns. Directors of the internship said the internship program might extend to other institutions in the future.
