After five years since opening on Monroe Street, Madison Chocolate Co. is growing and planning to open a second location selling its chocolates, gluten-free goodies, coffees and more.

Madison Chocolate Co. will keep the original location on Monroe Street open, but according to a Facebook post the new store aims to “take some pressure off of that space by relocating shipping and storage to the second location.”

The new location will be on the corner of Odana Road and Whitney Way — the space formerly occupied by the Associated Bank. The new spot is about two miles away from their location at 729 Glenway St.

Madison Chocolate Co. offers a variety of different items, including boxed chocolates, coffee drinks and an extensive list of gluten-free baked goods. The facility itself is a dedicated gluten-free facility.

The new location plans to continue selling similar items, while also building the business. “We are in the midst of building out an entire gluten-free bakery and separate gluten-free chocolate kitchen. We will have a drive-thru and a lovely sit down cafe,” the post reads.

Madison Chocolate Co. also plans to add more seating to the Monroe Street location and hopes to relocate some of the shipping and storage to the new space.

“When we opened 5 years ago … we thought our current space was HUGE and we would never outgrow it,” the post reads. “Thank you to all of our customers and employees over the past several years who have supported our tiny little shop.”

An opening date has not been announced.
