Madison-area Noodles & Company robbed at gunpoint

Shorewood Hills police are looking into an armed robbery at the Noodles and Company near the Hilldale mall Sunday night.

Police Chief Aaron Chapin said two suspects were involved, and one of them hit a restaurant worker on the head with a gun.

The incident occurred at about 10:20 p.m. at the restaurant in the 3600 block of University Avenue, according to a release.

The injured employee was taken to the hospital with a cut and is expected to be OK.

Chapin said the suspects were able to get away with cash.

The robbers are described as black men in their late teens or early 20s between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall. Both men were wearing baggy clothing, including hooded sweatshirts with hoods pulled up covering almost their entire heads. They were also wearing bandannas, which covered their faces below their eyes and purple latex gloves.

A police K-9 tracked the robbers to a spot where they likely had a vehicle waiting for them, police said.

Police ask anyone with information to call the Shorewood Hills Police Department at 608-267-1110.
