Lyle R. Bliss
Lyle R. Bliss, age 78, of Janesville, died at home on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017.
He was born in Syracuse, NY on Feb. 26, 1938, the son of Rev. Kenneth and Violet (Tebo) Bliss. He married his childhood sweetheart, Ruby D. Justice in Kingsbury, IN on Sept. 7, 1957, and had served in the U.S. Army. Lyle was a Wisconsin State Trooper until he retired in 1993, and had worked for the Honorable Richard T. Werner, Rock County Circuit Court. He attended Turning Point Church, Janesville.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Bliss; 3 children: Keven (Mary) Bliss of Janesville, Pam (Rod) Miller of Milton and Christine (Mike) Thompson of Tennessee; 9 grandchildren: Alicia, Lyndsay, Mitch (Erin), Brittany (Allen), Kenny, Courtney, Anna, Haley and Lydia; 8 great grandchildren: Morgin, Mackenzi, Maliya, Conner, Ensley, Brielle, Landry and Carter; 2 brothers, Orbra (Sally) Bliss of Indiana and Hollis (Sandy) Bliss of Georgia; many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and great grandson, R.J. Selover.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, TURNING POINT CHURCH, 2618 Mt. Zion Ave., Janesville with Rev. Tom Zillman officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at TURNING POINT CHURCH. Lasting Memorials may be made to UW Cancer Research or Agrace Hospice Care.
